For many, the 5K is their first introduction to road racing. It’s also a gateway to other fun and manageable training and racing distances, like 10Ks and Half-Marathons.
The average non sedentary person can be ready to tackle a 5K up to a Half-Marathon with a minimum of 10 - 12 weeks. This allows time to build a base + the adaptation phase, adding workouts + long runs, and finally, the taper.
My coaching approach, looks at YOU, the athlete as a complete system. We take all the necessary factors into consideration when devising your workout plan. Things like previous running history (it’s okay if it’s virtually non-existent), injury history, work/life balance and more. I coach the individual as much as the event, if sometimes not more!
